The Napa Valley experience should not have to end when the tasting rooms close. Take the Napa Valley Wine Train's Evening Winery Tour and participate in the Valley's only "after hours" winery tour. The Evening Winery Tour is a VIP-style tour at Grgich Hills Estate after it has already closed for the day. Grgich Hills will re-open exclusively for the Wine Train's Evening Winery Tour guests. You'll have the winery to yourselves. Even the size of the tour group is limited.

It is a family owned and operated winery dedicated to the art of winemaking and committed to natural winegrowing and sustainability. It is the largest Biodynamic® winery in North America with100% of their grapes estate grown and certified organic.

Founder and Winemaker Miljenko "Mike" Grgich, inducted into the Vintner Hall of Fame in 2008, became famous after he crafted the 1973 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay that won the historic 1976 Paris Tasting, besting the top white Burgundies.

On the Evening Winery Tour, you'll travel by motor coach to Grgich Hills Estate. Once you arrive, you will disembark and be guided on a private tour and tasting. The tour will include a behind-the-scenes look at the cellar, fruit and cheese pairings, as well a sample of the different Grgich Hills Wines. After the tour, the Napa Valley Wine Train will stop in front of the winery for you to board. You will be escorted into the dining car for your four course gourmet meal (wine on board the Train is not included).

Things to remember: This tour does occur at night, so bring warm clothing and comfortable shoes. Be prepared to stand for 90 minutes, you will have to be able to climb a couple of stairs. We encourage guests who may have difficulty performing these activities to consider our regular dinner options.
